Rio is the center of rock climbing in all of Brazil and known as one of the best places in the world to rock climb! In the mountains surrounding the beaches of Rio, you will find all kinds of climbing styles, including traditional climbing, sport climbing and bouldering. The climbs take anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days.
Rio has mountains that reach 1050 meters high (3400 ft). If you are looking for a higher altitude we will arrange a day trip which consists of driving 2 hours to mountains with almost 2800 meters high (9100 ft). There, you will find yourself in a place surrounded by many species of Brazilian fauna and flora, in a lush world dimensions away from the urban city near by.
There are over a thousand routes to choose from, ranging from the very easy to the most difficult you'll ever find. MaximRio will arrange a course where you can just learn how to climb or expedite your progress. The best thing about climbing in Rio as a beginner or an advanced climber is that that you can see the “Cidade Maravilhosa” in a way a regular tourist agency will never show you!
